TerpSeek ("we," "us," or "our") operates https://terpseek.com. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights. If you have questions, email privacy@terpseek.com.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide

  • Email address — when you sign up for our newsletter, set a price alert, or submit a vendor application.
  • Store information — if you submit a vendor listing (store name, website, email, message).
  • Contact messages — if you use our contact form.

Information collected automatically

  • Click events — when you click an outbound affiliate link we record which vendor was clicked (no personal data).
  • Log data — standard server logs including IP address, browser type, and pages visited. These are retained for up to 30 days.
  • Cookies — we use a single session cookie for authentication. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Send price drop alerts and drop notifications you subscribed to.
  • Send our newsletter (if you opted in). You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email.
  • Respond to vendor applications and contact form submissions.
  • Improve our product catalog and detect broken data.
  • Understand aggregate click patterns to improve the site (no individual profiling).

3. Affiliate Disclosure

TerpSeek earns commission when you click an affiliate link and make a purchase. This never affects our product listings, pricing data, or rankings — we show all vendors and prices as-is. Affiliate links are marked with rel="sponsored". See our full Affiliate Disclosure.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

  • Supabase — our database provider (US-based). Data is stored in their US-West region.
  • Resend — our email delivery provider. Your email is shared only when we send you a transactional message.
  • Vercel — our hosting provider. Standard server log data.
  • Law enforcement — if required by valid legal process.

5. Data Retention

  • Newsletter emails: retained until you unsubscribe.
  • Price alerts: retained until you delete the alert.
  • Vendor applications: retained for 12 months.
  • Contact messages: retained for 6 months.
  • Click event logs: aggregated and anonymised after 90 days.

6. Your Rights

You may request to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time by emailing privacy@terpseek.com. We will respond within 30 days. If you are in the EU/UK you also have the right to data portability and to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.

7. Children

TerpSeek is intended for adults aged 21 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 21. If you believe a minor has submitted information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Security

We use row-level security on our database, HTTPS everywhere, and access controls to protect your data. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we take reasonable precautions.

9. Third-Party Links

Our site links to vendor stores, lab reports, and other third-party sites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Review their policies before purchasing.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top and, for material changes, notify newsletter subscribers. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
