What Should THCa Cost? A Price-Per-Gram Guide

Compare THCa prices by weight, product form, and final checkout cost without relying on stale price charts.

A package price is not a market price. An eighth, a quarter, and an ounce cannot be compared honestly until the weight, product form, and final cost are on the same footing.

Start with price per gram

Divide the product price by the number of grams in the selected package. A $30 eighth is about $8.57 per gram. A $120 ounce is about $4.29 per gram. That calculation does not tell you which flower is better; it tells you what each amount costs.

Use the selected variant, not the largest weight mentioned anywhere on the page. A common catalog error is pairing one variant's price with another variant's weight.

Compare like with like

The cheapest listing in a broad flower search may be shake, trim, smalls, a bulk package, or an infused product. Those are different purchasing decisions. Before judging value, line up:

  • Product category and form
  • Flower grade: full-size, smalls, minis, popcorn, shake, or trim
  • Package size and purchase scale
  • Stated cultivation method, when the vendor provides one
  • Available lab evidence
  • How recently the listing was checked

Use current benchmarks, not a frozen chart

THCa prices change as vendors add inventory, clear older batches, and change package options. A price table copied into an article goes stale. TerpSeek's category pages and search results calculate from current indexed listings instead.

The rosin price-per-gram guide, the 28g and bulk rosin guide, and the live resin comparison rebuild their tables from those listings.

Open the THCa flower market for the current category view, then use price-per-gram sorting to inspect the listings behind the number.

Check the denominator

A market average can be distorted by pound listings, unusually tiny samples, or forms that do not belong in the same cohort. Useful comparisons keep personal-retail flower separate from bulk purchasing and keep concentrates out of the flower benchmark.

If an extreme price looks wrong, open the product page and verify the selected weight. Do not assume the lowest calculated number is automatically a real bargain.

Add the costs that appear later

Price per gram usually excludes shipping, taxes, and conditional discounts. Before choosing between close listings, compare the checkout total and ask:

  • Does free shipping require a larger order?
  • Does the displayed sale require a code?
  • Is the cheapest variant still in stock?
  • Are returns limited for opened consumable products?

What a “good price” actually means

A good price is competitive within the product form you want, supported by a current listing, and low enough after shipping to matter. It is not simply the first result produced by sorting an unfiltered catalog.
