THCA pre-rolls have exploded in variety. From single-strain classic joints to infused multi-wrap blunts, the format has matured significantly. Here's how to navigate it.

Types of Pre-Rolls

Classic Pre-Rolls

Single paper, single strain, typically 0.5–1g. The baseline format. Quality depends entirely on the flower used — ask vendors whether they use whole flower, trim, or shake. Whole flower pre-rolls are significantly better.

Infused Pre-Rolls

Flower rolled with added concentrate — kief, rosin, diamonds, or live resin. Much more potent. Typically 1–2g with 30–50%+ effective potency. The premium format in the market right now.

Mini Pre-Rolls / Packs

Multiple 0.25–0.5g joints in a pack. Good for social situations and microdosing. More accessible for new users.

What to Look For

  • Whole flower, not trim — ask vendors explicitly. "Indoor pre-roll" with no flower detail usually means shake/trim.
  • COA on both the flower and any infusion — for infused pre-rolls especially, verify THCA potency on the concentrate used.
  • Weight accuracy — 1g should be 1g. Some vendors underfill.
  • Paper quality — Raw, OCB, or King Palm wraps are signs of a vendor that cares about the product.

Price Benchmarks

  • Classic 1g pre-roll: $8–$18
  • Infused 1g pre-roll: $15–$35
  • Pack of 5 minis (0.5g each): $25–$45
